Made in Portugal: the craftsmanship behind our tailored jackets and coats.
At SDSH, every jacket begins long before it reaches your wardrobe. Behind each piece lies a process shaped by experience, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Our jackets are produced in a small workshop in Portugal, where traditional tailoring techniques are still part of everyday work. It is here that design, fabric and skilled hands come together to create garments that are built to last.
At the heart of this workshop is Mr. Felix.

Meet Mr. Felix, master jacket maker
Mr. Felix is 80 years old and has spent most of his life making jackets.
For decades he has refined his craft, working with the patience and precision that tailoring requires. In his workshop, each movement is the result of years of experience: cutting fabric, assembling panels, shaping collars and pressing garments into their final form.
His gestures are calm and confident, guided by habit and knowledge accumulated over a lifetime.
Even today, Mr. Felix continues to work every day, maintaining the traditions of classic tailoring and passing on the values of careful craftsmanship.

Traditional tailoring techniques
In an industry that often prioritizes speed and volume, small workshops like this one preserve a slower and more thoughtful approach to garment making.
The process of creating a tailored jacket involves many stages, each requiring a specific skill and careful attention.
First comes the preparation of the pattern and the cutting of the fabric. Precision at this stage is essential, as even small variations can affect the final fit and balance of the jacket.
The different components of the garment are then assembled step by step: the body panels, sleeves, collar and lining. Each stage contributes to the structure and comfort of the finished piece.
Inside the jacket, hidden elements such as interlinings and reinforcements help maintain the shape of the lapels and front panels. These structural details are essential to achieving the clean lines and durability expected from a well-made tailored jacket.
Finally, the garment is pressed and finished. Through steam and careful shaping, the jacket gradually takes its final form.

Why we choose to produce our jackets in Portugal
Portugal has long been known for its strong tradition in garment manufacturing and tailoring. Many workshops combine modern production with decades of expertise, making the country one of Europe’s most respected locations for quality garment production.
Working with a small Portuguese workshop allows us to ensure close collaboration, consistent quality and respect for traditional craftsmanship.
It also allows us to produce garments in a more thoughtful way, focusing on quality over quantity.

The value of craftsmanship
Watching a jacket come to life in the workshop is always fascinating. What begins as pieces of fabric gradually transforms into a structured garment through a series of precise and deliberate steps.
Behind every jacket there are hours of work, experienced hands and a deep understanding of the craft.
For us, craftsmanship is not only about technique. It is about respect for materials, attention to detail and the patience required to create something that will last.
That is why every SDSH jacket begins in the hands of artisans like Mr. Felix.
Because true craftsmanship is timeless.
